Old Hollywood Sand Bags are ideal for light stands to add stability when stands are raised above 6 ft or in heavy foot traffic areas. [As a professional Gaffer would do on set] These bags are custom-made for us to get an “Authentic Vintage Look.” Sandbags are made of 18 oz heavy-duty canvas in Unbleached Natural Cotton webbing and seared inside edges so the natural weave and material will not fray out over time. Velcro is applied on each side of the bag (in the fill opening slot) and double-reinforced at openings. We used Soft Touch instead of Velcro, a more industrial product for this application. These bags ship empty and can quickly be filled with regular all-purpose sand. I suggest a wide-mouth funnel and shaking the bag to move the sand around (make it settle) so they can be filled entirely. Small Bags of 10 lbs generally end up between 9 - 10 lbs when full. Large Bags generally end up 20 - 22 lbs wholly filled.
We recommend 10 lb bags on 1ks & 2 Ks
We recommend 20 lb bags on 2Ks, 5Ks, and 10Ks
