All Barn Doors come with a safety chain, so you can hang them from the light-yolk as an architectural detail when they’re not in use. This is a great look, and my preferred way of displaying them, personally.
Barn-doors narrow the beam spread of a light fixture. They help create a 3-dimensional look to a lighting scheme by placing light in a specific area, or by keeping it away. The more leaves a barn-door has, or the longer the leaves, the more precisely the beam of light can be controlled.
* ALL our Barn Doors are from 1950 - 1970, so they are all used and show signs of use. We do our best to clean them up and get them back into usable shape. Due to their age, and having been used professionally for decades, they will show signs of wear and tear. Every Barn-door is photographed individually so you are looking at the "Actual Item" you are thinking of buying. A picture is worth 1000 words!
** Our barn doors may have been repainted or given a patina, and thus are no longer viable for the heat output on original, factory-bulb, equipped lights. They are refurbished to go with my “repurposed for home use” lights only.

When we purchased our light, we asked if the fixture we chose could accept barn doors. John found a set in his shop that fit our fixture and even took a photo of the light we were buying with them on so we could decide if we wanted them.
